New sanctions iron and steel imports

New sanctions against Russia, restrictions on iron and steel

Sanctions to be implemented September 30, 2023

On September 30th the EU will implement new sanctions against Russia. It has
become apparent to the EU that Russian iron and steel was still finding its way in
to the EU, by first shipping it to another country. To counteract this, there will now
be measures against “the import of iron and steel products, treated in third countries”.
What this means for you is that from the 30th of September, it will no longer be
allowed to import goods with Russian origin, directly or indirectly, with the following
HS codes:
7206 7216 7226 7307 7317
7207 7217 7227 7308 7318
7208 7218 7228 7309 7319
7209 7219 7229 7310 7320
7210 7220 7301 7311 7321
7211 7221 7302 7312 7322
7212 7222 7303 7313 7323
7213 7223 7304 7314 7324
7214 7224 7305 7315 7325
7215 7225 7306 7316 7326
To import these goods, you will have to be able to prove the origin is not Russian.
This can be done by means of one or multiple Mill test certificates.
Customs inspections will be strict for this new sanction, so your cargo may be subject
to longer waiting times or an increased volume of physical inspections.
